  • 1.
  • The Clinical Academic Center of Braga (2CA-Braga) established four (4) funding programs intended to support clinical research projects.
  • 2.
  • The funding is awarded according to a selection process, which is guided by the following rules:
  • 2.1
  • The call for tender is announced by 2CA-Braga through proper platforms, namely, at www.ccabraga.org.
  • 2.2
  • Thematic fields for project submission:
  • (i)
  • Incentive projects for young researchers (up to 5.000 Euros each);
  • (ii)
  • Clinical research projects (up to 10.000 Euros each).
  • 2.3
  • 2CA-Braga fundings are intended for researchers (on an individual basis or as part of teams) interested in developing clinical research.
  • 2.4
  • The fundings are intended to support clinical research projects up to 18 months of duration.
  • 2.5
  • The applications should be submitted in English (with an abstract in Portuguese) till the 31st of December, 2022, and should include:
  • (i)
  • applicant’s curriculum vitae;
  • (ii)
  • description of the project you want to develop, in the following format:
  • I
  • a title with an acronym;
  • II
  • summary (Portuguese and English) – up to 1000 characters (white spaces not included);
  • III
  • literature review – up to 2500 characters (white spaces not included);
  • IV
  • research plan (including study design, methods, and procedures) – up to 7500 characters;
  • V
  • progress regarding the state of the art (description of the state of the art of the field in question and the progress the project should bring, explaining the main technological or scientific innovations the team aims for and why they are important);
  • VI
  • budget;
  • VII
  • research team;
  • VIII
  • bibliographical references (up to 20).
  • 2.6
  • The application process should be submitted through the proper form, available through the link.
  • 2.7
  • The applications will be evaluated by a jury, which will have the following composition:
  • .
  • A member of 2CA-Braga’s board of directors, who will preside and have a casting vote;
  • .
  • A member nominated by the Hospital of Braga-EPE’s board of directors.
  • .
  • One member appointed by the Cuf Oporto Hospital;
  • .
  • A member nominated by the Scientific Council of the School of Medicine of the University of Minho;
  • 2.8.
  • The jury’s decisions will be made by vote majority and won’t allow for an appeal.
  • 2.9.
  • The announcement of the results will be made during February 2023, and the projects should start in March 2023.
  • 2.10.
  • At the end of the project, it is mandatory to present a report to 2CA-Braga’s board of directors.
  • 2.11.
  • All the scientific works presented during the project should mention the source of support and funding.
