Synopsis

For the second year, 2CA-Braga has awarded grants for clinical research and scientific initiatives. This year there were 13 applicants and grants were awarded to:

  • Ana João Rodrigues (ICVS), Cristina Nogueira-Silva (ICVS / HB), Pedro Morgado (ICVS / HB) and Pedro Leão (ICVS / HB) – “Long Term Impact of Prenatal Glucocorticoid Exposure” – Clinical Design for Effects Study gastrointestinal and neurological disorders of corticosteroids administered during pregnancy, involving the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Hospital de Braga and ICVS.
  • Pedro Morgado (ICVS / HB) – “Treating Refractory Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Using Real-Time Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Neurofeedback” – Clinical study of Fmri in obsessive-compulsive patients, involving the Department of Psychiatry of the Braga Hospital and the ICVS.
  • Ana Sofia Silva (FAUP – Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto) – “Architecture and Health: the architectonic environment’s impact on hospital’s daily life” – intends to study the rooms / spaces for consultation of patients and their direct impact on their well-being. . This study from the Faculty of Architecture of Porto involves physicians from the Braga Hospital and the School of Health Sciences / ICVS.
