The Academic Clinical Center (2CA-Braga) is a non-profit partnership between the University of Minho (UM), through the School of Health Sciences (ECS) and the Institute of Research in Life Sciences and Health (ICVS). ), José de Mello Saúde, represented by the Braga and CUF-Porto Hospitals, and ReferenceProfile, Lda. 2CA-Braga’s corporate purpose is the development of clinical research, framed in a health care environment, and the promotion and production of knowledge in order to make clinical care more effective, improving the quality and efficiency of care. The clinical research center is headquartered at Hospital de Braga, and has a wing for the development of its activity composed of several spaces adaptable to the development of research projects of different designs. With just over two years after the creation of 2CA-Braga, we are pleased to launch our first newsletter, which allows you to take stock of the work done. During this time the foundations of a work program with a positive impact were laid. 2CA-Braga defined its management system, ensured working processes and tools, and established a set of synergistic relationships with dozens of institutional partners. We are aware of the challenges we still have to face, but we consider the consolidation of excellence in research to be a top priority. We want, with the participation of all, to find models that will enhance clinical and translational research for health professionals, guaranteeing the highest international standards of ethics, quality and excellence.
